You may eat a light meal before your surgery. When you arrive at our office for your procedure, you will be given an oral pain medication and a medication to make you feel more relaxed. Dr. Kulkin will mark your skin to guide him as to the exact areas to be sculpted. The skin will be numbed, and tiny incisions (about 2 mm) will be made for the local anesthetic to be infused into the fat. The entire procedure will take less than three hours, and you will be able to walk to your car. A friend or family member must drive you home. You will need to relax at home for 1-2 days. If your surgery is on a Thursday or Friday, most people will be able to return to work on Monday. Exercise can be resumed in 7-14 days. Depending on the area, compression garments may or may not be required.
