On your
first visit, you will meet our Patient Concierge,
Dr. Kulkin, and our staff for a consultation. We pride
ourselves on starting 99% of our appointments on time
so don't expect to wait! Most of our patients
start their first session of laser hair removal during
this visit but that decision is entirely up to you!
If you know you would like to start, please
let us know when you schedule your appointment so
we can reserve the appropriate amount of time for
you. We will review your medical history
and ask a few questions that are important to anyone
considering laser hair removal. For example, we would
like to know of any medical conditions you might have,
and would like to learn about any medications you
presently are taking, or recently have taken. We will
explain the process with you and, of course, we will
answer any questions you have, so please feel free
to jot them down and bring them in with you. You even
can send us an e-mail in advance of your visit so
we are prepared to provide you with any special information
you might request. Your Atlanta Laser Hair Removal
search has now ended here and we will begin the process
of earning your trust and confidence.
Lasers
are not one size fits all! In part, your
skin and hair color dictate which laser we will use
for your personal treatment. As laser experts, we
can choose the one that is best suited for your individual
needs. We may even use two different lasers on one
person. We do whatever helps us get the best result
for you!
In
advance of your visit, you should shave the area we
are to treat with the exception of facial and neck
hair in women. We like to
see those "problem areas" first, and then
will give you a razor to use in our treatment rooms
before we begin the laser hair removal session. For
bikini line hair removal, shave the area as you would
like it to look when the treatment is finished. We
have done thousands of bikini areas over the years,
and have seen many varieties of shape and cut, so
we believe it is important that you shave to your
preference.
A typical
laser hair removal session lasts well under an hour.
Facial hair is treated in about 10 minutes, while
it takes about 45 minutes to laser both legs and 30
minutes to treat the entire back. Bikini areas usually
take 10 to 15 minutes. Many patients describe the
laser hair removal sensation as a rubber band hitting
the skin, but the consensus is almost unanimous, "It's
much better than waxing!" Fewer than 10 percent
of our patients use a numbing cream on the skin. If,
after your first session, you decide that you want
this cream, we offer it at our office for a nominal
charge. Minimal redness is typical after a session
but is usually gone in about an hour. And yes, you
can apply makeup right away, and can return to work
or play with NO DOWN TIME.
